This is a real deal unique thing this Summer. If you're looking for an amazing graduation gift or a Summer experience to remember for your High Schooler, or for you ... it could be the coolest present to get yourself, or as a gift, and/or experience a creative family project for the record books!

Boombox Camp offers three sessions: July, Aug. Sept where you can build your own musician-approved, open-source, vivacious, engaging-sounding boombox from the kit we've been perfecting for the last 8 years. Build in a small group setting either at CircuitLaunch.com maker/co-working space near Oakland airport, or on Zoom ... all parts, materials are included and the original inventor (Noel) is the instructor. Making and having this boombox is a game changer for your love of music. Say it with us: Yes! We can make it!

Session Schedule (Pacific Times)
Session 1 -- Long Weekend: July 26th - 28th (Fri 5pm-8pm, Sat/Sun10am-4pm)
Session 2 -- Weekday Mornings: Aug 5th - 9th (9am-noon)
Session 3 -- Weekday Evenings: Sept 9th - 13th (5pm-8pm)

This DIY kit boombox is an art and music hybrid experience device. The fully customizable speaker allows lovers of the arts to exhibit visual expression on a beautiful-sounding boombox that starts conversations anywhere. There's nothing like it.

Everyone who has made one can vouch for the great feeling of being able to say "yes I made that" about their own head-turning boombox when anyone asks. It's a simple joy, endlessly fun and sounds so great. Plus, since you will have made it yourself, you'll know the inner workings and how to keep it running for many years -- think of all the junk plastic impersonal bluetooth speakers you can avoid buying and putting in the landfill in the next few decades at least.

The build process is accomplished completly in the session time with simple hand tools (provided for you in the in-person but you will need them at home for Zoom). Full instructional PDFs and videos are included to walk you through all steps of the build process.

Your songs will drop jaws anywhere you want to bring music to life. New friendships will spark for the love of music. This original invention is an instrument of sound called a "MOJOFESTO" – meaning magic celebration. Six years of lovingly prototyping handmade boomboxes from artistic materials has finally arrived at this fully sensational listening experience.

Once you add your twist to the DIY boombox, by painting, collaging, branding or otherwise customizing the surface, you will have made a one-of-a-kind collectable boombox.

It features a body, back and border of tempered hardboard that you paint, and a Cedar face, wet sanded and hand rubbed in fine Tung Oil varnish, UV-resistant Urethane, and Carnuba wax blend for a durable natural finish that can be maintained for decades of satin beauty. Its bluetooth or auxiliary input is amplified at 200 Watts for 8-10 hours of portable play by its Lithium Ion battery. Musicians and music lovers alike will feel the muse represented in lifelike sound presence.

The MOJOFESTO A3-Kit is built on a wooden frame designed to open up with a screwdriver. You are invited to look inside and see how it is built. Repairs and upgrades can be done in the field. No more disposable plastic bluetooth speakers are needed in your repertoire or in the landfill. Much like you expect a musical instrument to last a lifetime, you can count on a MOJOFESTO to be repairable and playing for many many years.

This unique musical joy device says we are ready to rock; we want to to jam out loud in real places with real people; we love amazing sound, real talk and open communities; we welcome sharing new and old music and ideas. By launching the MOJOFESTO DIY kit series, MakeBoomboxes is sharing the joy of making boomboxes, and setting the stage for an upcoming custom boombox shop.

Let us know if you have any questions or if you want to work something out -- we don't want cost to block you from making a boombox if you're really interested -- so let's talk?
